Microsoft has released the first update for its Surface Pro 8 tablet to improve graphics, security, Thunderbolt support, and more as part of routine maintenance.
In addition, since the last Surface update report, the company has also made available the first update for its Surface Duo 2, and other devices, such as the Surface Book 2 and original Duo, also received updates.
Surface Pro 8 update
These are the improvements with the November 2021 update:
- Improves new Type Cover Fingerprint login reliability.
- Improves graphics stability and performance.
- Improves system security.
- Enables new Surface Pen haptics and improves inking performance.
- Improves Thunderbolt AMD eGPU support.
- Improves touchscreen stability.
In this rollout, the company is updating the following components: Surface Retimer, UEFI, Surface System Aggregator, Surface SMF, Type Cover v7 firmware and fingerprint UDE controller, Touch Pen processor, Surface Integration, Surface G6 Touch, and Intel Iris Xe Graphics.
Surface Duo 2 and Duo updates
The second generation of the tablet that makes phone calls received to address scenarios outlined in the Android Security Bulletin – November 2021.
The same changes are available for the Surface Duo 1st generation.
Surface Book 2 update
The update for the second generation of the Book 2 laptop addresses critical security vulnerability and improves system stability.
The components updated in this rollout include the Marvell AVASTAR Wireless-AC Network Controller and Bluetooth Radio Adapter.
The update should download and install automatically, but if you have not received it, then you get it from Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and try to force the download manually.
